Take a look at the company's dividend yield and dividend payout ratio. This is the annual dividend as a percentage of earnings per share. A company with a high yield and low payout ratios mean that they can maybe sustain dividends during weak a economy


  • Review

Take a look at the company's cash flow, how much surplus cash to they have on hand. If a company has positive cash flow and continues to add to their cash, then they probably have the money on hand to pay the dividend.
